Body Invaders

For this solo-project I worked from graphics and sound to development and design. It mimics the mechanics of “Space Invaders”, and takes advantage of its classic look and feel to transmit a message. Body Invaders is a serious game about the difficulties endometriosis brings in a woman's life. Endometriosis affects roughly 10% (190 million) of reproductive age women and girls globally. In the game: the player experiences 2 of the symptoms (heavy menstrual cycle and infertility) and helps the disease manifest violently against the body. The purpose of the game is to raise awareness and support for free access of women to periodic gynecology consults.
